The targeted muscles are the latissimus dorsi, teres major, and trapezius; but also the arm muscles and deltoid's posterior head (upper back). The lumbar, glutes, and upper hamstrings are also worked out statically.
The usual hold is in pronation (reverse grip), then move into supination (palms up) bringing the effort onto the biceps brachialis muscle and the upper part of the trapezius.

Description of the exercise:
Start with your feet shoulder-width apart, and your chest inclined forward at 45º, keeping your back straight and your knees unlocked. The muscle is flexed by pulling the level bar towards the torso.
